(KMOV) – Stifel Financial Corp. announced Wednesday it will remain in downtown St. Louis, but will not be relocating to a new office space at Ballpark Village next to Busch Stadium.

Instead, Stifel plans to buy the tower currently holding its headquarters in downtown at 501 N. Broadway. One of the fastest growing and largest financial firms in the country, Stifel also plans to add 225 new St. Louis based jobs over the next three years.
“We are pleased that Stifel Financial has made a commitment to stay and expand in downtown St. Louis. While we had looked at incorporating Stifel's office needs in Ballpark Village, today's announcement in no way threatens the viability of our project. We remain committed to moving forward with phase one of Ballpark Village in the near future,” said Cardinals president William O. DeWitt III.
Mayor Francis Slay said his development team is in contact with Ballpark Village developers about turning the original dreams for the project into real dollars for downtown.
