(KMOV) – Tenants frustrated with landlords over slow repairs or the delayed return of security deposits do have rights, but the biggest mistake tenants can make is not paying rent out of protest.
Representatives with the Better Business Bureau say that tenants should file a complaint with the BBB and consult an attorney if their landlord is not being responsive. All complaints should be in writing and sent by certified mail as documentation.
St. Louis City is making some housing attorneys available Tuesday night from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for free advice. It’s open to anyone in the St. Louis area, and is being held at the Eads Square apartments in St. Louis City.
