New bill introduced in St. Charles to ban smoking from all indoor spaces

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV)—A new bill will be introduced in St. Charles this week that will include a smoking ban with no exemptions.
According to the St .Louis Post Dispatch, the new bill will have no exemptions for casinos, cigar bars or tobacco stores as a part of the new smoking ban.
It will be introduced by Councilman Joe Cronin, who in June vetoed another smoking ban saying he did not think the ban went far enough. The ban eliminates smoking from local restaurants and indoor spaces in the St. Charles area.
If this new bill passes, there is a chance Ameristar Casino could lose business to smokers who may go across the Missouri River to Harrah’s, where smoking is allowed.
