EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Police are investigating the deaths of two men killed in separate incidents in East St. Louis.
The body of 44-year-old Ronald McFarland of Fairmont City was found Tuesday morning in a grassy area near a public housing complex.
His body was wrapped in a black rug. An autopsy shows the cause of death was blunt trauma to the head.
The Major Case Squad of the Greater St. Louis Area is investigating the case.
Earlier Tuesday, 23-year-old Shamario Williams was shot to death near his home. A 17-year-old shot in the same incident was hospitalized in stable condition.
East St. Louis Police and the Illinois State Police are investigating the shootings.
