A deputy who survived being shot at during a high-speed chase down Interstate 70 last year is one of eight contestants vying for a $10,000 prize from America's Most Wanted All-Star contest.
The public has already started voting by phone and text messaging to determine a grand prize winner.
Kyle Doolen, 29, of Roxana has already been rewarded for his heroics. Last year he was named Co-Deputy of the year by the Illinois Sheriff's Association, the department's first such honor in 37 years. Later, the Madison County Board honored him with a plaque and a standing ovation.
