"Summer Sale Edition"< /em>

What: Summer Cash & Carry Boutique Warehouse Sale

When: August 8, 2009 10am-4pm

Where: The Boulevard Saint Louis

Why: To get ready for fall inventory

St. Louis, MO - The movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic" would be one of the truest depictions of shoppers who can get out of control when designer clothing is mixed in with bargains. This scene is exactly how the Cash & Carry Warehouse Sale looks in real life. Last winter over 2,000 determined shopaholics showed up in droves to stand in the bitter cold and wait their turn to be let into one of our city's biggest designer warehouse sales from some of the top boutiques in our marketplace. Now that summer's here, the local boutique owners have decided that a "summer edition" (a first of its kind) sale is fitting with this slow-to-rise economy. The warehouse sale is usually a win-win for both the boutiques looking to clear inventory and prepare for their fall merchandise and market, and the truly dedicated shoppers who will hunt and scrutinize their racks for those fashion must have's that are on sale for that day only.

The Summer Cash & Carry Boutique Warehouse Sale is set for Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 10am-4pm at The Boulevard Saint Louis; 1 The Boulevard (open space next to Crate & Barrel; North end of Main Street). The sale will have a $10 entrance fee set for "first peek" purchasers which will gain them early access from 10am-1pm with proceeds going back to both the Family Resource Center as well as The Humane Society. To boot, there will be a bar with select wine and beer brands to create more of a social and fun shopping atmosphere. After 1pm there will be no charge and doors will close sharply at 4pm.

The warehouse sale will include thousands of designer items from local boutiques with mark downs from 50-90 percentoff the retail price. Some of the designer highlights to be on sale: Lilly Pulitzer, Milly, Tory Burch, Susana Monaco, Biya, Johnny Was, What Comes Around Goes Around, LaROK, Joe's Jeans, Free People and Ella Ross.

"We never really thought of or experimented with a summer sale mainly because in the past we haven't had to. Given the current economic strain on everyone, many retailers are doing what they can to get the word out that we are here and we want to keep your business as well as keep our business going," expressed Laura Bryan, owner of Wish in Ladue.

Holding true to always keeping things fresh and fabulous, Cash & Carry will feature not only women's designer clothing, accessories and shoes as well as men's and children's like last year but also adding: designer luggage and briefcases and a selection of top brand name golf products.

There will also be newer boutiques added to the line up including: Ivy Hill, Marta's Boutique and ShoeLadue, which helps to bring in even more fresh and fabulous finds for the attendees.

"One of the reasons this event is so successful is because we're very particular on the boutiques who participate, their client base and their product and fashion lines; perception is everything and so is stimulating the economy," expressed Bryan.

Last January this event generated sales revenue over $105,000 for the local boutiques and also helped to bring in significant tax dollars to the City of Richmond Heights. Each boutique owner either doubled their sales revenue or made approximately the same amount as last year, depending on: sale items, stock and what the consumers wanted. Additionally, a significant donation was made from the sale to last winter's charitable partner "Our Little Haven," a place where young ones are safe and secure.

The sale is staying at the same location to accommodate more merchandise and the anticipation of more shoppers, which again is: 1 The Boulevard Saint Louis, Saint Louis, MO 63117. The sale will take place in an open retail space on The Boulevard next to Crate & Barrel and across from Nadoz Euro Bakery + Caf. Parking can be found in the parking garage or along the streetscape. The Metro Link also has a direct stop at The Boulevard.

Please note for sale: Cash only and all transactions are final.
