(KMOV) -- Clean-up continues in Mascoutah, Ill. after a tornado touch-down in that area.
Kenneth Eidman, 80, and his wife Shirley, 78, are trying to pick up the pieces after their one-story farmhouse was torn apart by the winds that raced through their neighborhood on Monday afternoon.
The Eidman's took shelter and huddled together in a central room of their house on Jefferson Road just south of Mascoutah, Ill. when the storm passed through.
The home was destroyed and debris was scattered about a quarter-mile from the house. Judging by the damage done to the home, it's remarkable that this elderly couple survived.
Kenneth Eidman says his wife was not hurt and his only injury was a scratch on his finger.
