(KMOV) -- St Louis police officers are mourning the loss of one of their own.
Officer Julius Moore passed away late Thursday night.
Moore crashed his car last week while responding to a call in south St. Louis.
Officer Moore was 23-years-old. He graduated from the police academy in 2007 and he was a 2004 graduate of Normandy High School.
Moore leaves behind a wife and three young children.
Investigators say Moore was responding to a call when a tractor trailer crashed into his squad car.
According to police reports a tractor trailer driver made a right hand turn and collided with Moore’s police cruiser.
Investigators say that Moore had his sirens and lights on at the time of the crash.
Crews rushed Moore to St. Louis University Hospital where he remained in critical condition.
Late Thursday evening, Moore died from his injuries.
Funeral arrangements have not been released at this point.
St. Louis Police Chief Daniel Isom is expected to make a statement regarding Moore's death today.
