ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - St. Louis Board of Alderman President Lewis Reed will make a special announcement on Wednesday.
Reed is expected to announce his candidacy for mayor. If Reed tosses his hat into the ring, he will be running in the Democratic Primary against Mayor Francis Slay.
Slay and Reed have been political adversaries over the past couple of years on several issues. Slay's campaign sent News 4 a response.
"If he is declaring for mayor tomorrow, he will be announcing the worst kept secret in city politics. From today on, Lewis Reed will no longer be able to have an unexamined resume; a confidential daily schedule; secret businesses; and multiple positions on most issues," the statement said.
The primary will be held in March, 2013.
