Rams Long on undefeated Cardinals: They are a hell of a team

ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- It is unbelievable that the Arizona Cardinals are atop the NFC West after four games played.  Even more amazing is that the team is undefeated after having to play an early tough schedule which included the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins.

It is now the Rams turn to try to knock the Cardinals out of the list of undefeated teams which includes the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans.  Both squads will have to deal with a shortened week with the game slated for the Thursday night primetime time slot.

As for the Rams, the coaches began preparing for the tilt shortly after a 19-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

“We came in yesterday afternoon and watched the game and they had gotten a head start on Arizona, so we are actually in good shape right now.  Players came in and we gave them an opportunity to look at yesterday’s game on their own while the coaches were working, and here we are,” Jeff Fisher said.

“They are a hell of a team,” defensive end Chris Long said of the Cardinals.  “They are really well-coached, they are always well-coached.  I think they have some great players that we have a great deal of respect for.  It is going to be a lot of fun.  It is going to be a great challenge for us.  It is a division game.  You got to have fun with those.”

The Cardinals will be playing in only their second away game this year when they enter the Edward Jones Dome on Thursday night.  In their last road game, the team shocked the Patriots for a 20-18 victory in New England in Week 2.  On the other side of the ball, the Rams have yet to lose at home this season.

In three of the four games played the Cardinals have squeaked out wins by a margin of four points or fewer.  Only the Jacksonville Jaguars are worse when it comes to offensive yards per game.  So the question remains: how do these guys keep winning?
