Former Rams coach struggles with new team

NEW ORLEANS (FootballStL) -- Before the start of the season, the bounty scandal rocked the Saints organization from top to bottom.  Zero wins and one of the worst defenses in the league are now the main issue in New Orleans after the first four weeks.

Steve Spagnuolo was canned by the Rams after leading the team to just ten wins in 48 games at the helm.  As the defensive coordinator of the winless Saints he has seemingly started where he left off.  His team’s defense ranks last in yards allowed and is a few spots shy of allowing the most points in the league.

The Saints have not allowed fewer than 27 points in a single game this season against the likes of the Redskins, Panthers, Chiefs and Packers, a combined 6-10 record.

It is safe to say that the winless start for the Saints should be blamed on the atrocious defense as Drew Brees and the offense continue to rip apart opposing defenses while ranking in the top-ten in the majority of offensive categories.

The Saints are one game away from a much-needed bye week, but will have to face one of the top AFC teams, the San Diego Chargers.  It will be the toughest defense the Saints have faced this season.  It will also be one of the more potent offenses faced, as well.

Spagnuolo is likely already on the hot seat considering the Saints were built to compete for this season.  The 0-4 start has already doomed the team as the division-rival Falcons have sprinted out to a 4-0 record.

The Browns are the only other team in the NFL to not have a win this season.
