It's back to business already for Rams

ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- The Rams have accomplished something in four games that took 16  last season -- win two games.  It could easily be celebrated as a major accomplishment for the youngest team in football, but there is no time to waste because the next game is Thursday, only four days after a 19-13 win over the Seahawks.

The team was back on the practice field on Monday afternoon for the first time in preparation for  the Arizona Cardinals.  In a typical week, the Rams would not return to the field until Wednesday which, in Jeff Fisher’s case, was yesterday.

“I told them yesterday was Wednesday, today is Thursday, but it is a Wednesday practice, tomorrow is Friday but it is Tuesday,” head coach Jeff Fisher said after Monday’s practice (or was it Wednesday’s practice?).

Sunday’s win over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks was tucked away shortly after the final whistle was blown on Sunday.  In his post game press conference, quarterback Sam Bradford said it was a ‘twenty minute rule’ to celebrate the win before looking ahead to the Cardinals.

For defensive lineman Chris Long, the short week is ‘less than ideal‘ and it will come down to which team is better prepared and takes better care of their body in the few days in between games.

“I like to think that we got a lot of hard workers and smart guys in here,” Long said.  “It is a different feel around here.  It doesn’t feel like, grant it we won a game yesterday, but it doesn’t feel like we won a game yesterday because we are just so focused on the next thing.”

Fisher also noted that the team “got enough” rest after Sunday’s win.  We will have to wait until Thursday night to see if the rest was enough.
