After 15 minutes, Missouri is still struggling to find its feet on both sides of the ball. The defense is getting sliced apart by the UCF ground game. Storm Johnson has 70 yards in the first quarter on six carries.
Luckily, the Knights aren't an offensive powerhouse, and they've played themselves into trouble with penalties. That couldn't save the Tigers from giving up points in the first quarter- a first on the season.
On offense, it's more of the same. Mizzou seems better, and Franklin seems more comfortable, but it isn't helping us move the ball into UCF territory. Our deepest charge was undone by a delay of game.
It's confusing, because it seems like every play the Tigers are gaining yards, but we never go anywhere.
The Tigers did look to get DGB involved early, but he dropped what would have been a first down reception on a drag route, and we haven't seen him since.
Perhaps the strangest part of the first quarter was learning that UCF has the second most students in the country. I'm not sure how this was measured, but with over 50,000 students, it's surprisingly big. Who knew?
