(KMOV) --- A police chase that began in St. Ann, Missouri ended late Thursday afternoon in Madison County, Illinois with the suspect being tased by police.
The Missouri Highway Patrol tells News 4 it initially tried to pull over an orange Dodge pick-up for window tinting and registration issues, but then the truck took off.
St. Ann police also picked up the chase that moved into Illinois, before ending at Route 3 and Chain of Rocks Road.
Police say that shortly after the crash that ended the chase, an officer approached the pick-up truck and noticed the the driver, Shawn Randall, 28, make a motion, then officer then fired his gun, but did not hit him.
When the subject began to run on foot, police tased Randall.
The truck Randall was driving was reported stolen September 16th.
A 23-year-old woman and an 19-month-old child were in the pickup truck during the chase, but do not appear to be injured. The woman has been questioned by police.
Randall was taken to an area hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash, but is now in the Madison County Jail held on bonds totaling $140,000.
Illinois State Police say Randall already had warrants out for his arrest for assaulting a police officer in St. Louis and auto theft in Madison County.
