COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- A man featured on the TV program "America's Most Wanted" lived for years in central Missouri before his arrest last week.
Forty-four year old John E. Snyder was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff's Department at a house in Sturgeon. He avoided arrest for six years and is suspected of violating probation and failing to register as a sex offender.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reported that Snyder lived in Columbia for years. Neighbors there say Snyder sold items online and took care of his three children. A next-door neighbor says she spoke with Snyder while hanging laundry and that he seemed friendly. Another says he occasionally expressed racist views.
Snyder had led the Indiana chapter of the National Socialist Movement.
