(KMOV) -- Two girls on two different school buses suffered injuries from apparent bb gun attacks Friday in south St. Louis.
Police said an 11-year-old student was traveling on a school bus near Liermann and Giles at about 3:42 p.m. when she complained of pain in her arm. She told the bus driver, who called police and met them at Virginia and Gasconade. There was a report of someone firing a bb gun in the area just before officers responded to the call.
The girl had a small circular welt on her arm and her parent refused medical treatment. The girl told officers she didn’t observe anyone shooting a bb gun or hear any shots, but police said the wound may be the result of a bb pellet.
Officers responded to a school bus being hit by bb pellets about 10 minutes later at Meramec and Giles. Witnesses saw a group of young men, one with a bb gun, shoot at the school bus and run from the scene.
A 13-year-old girl on the bus was sitting next to a window when it shattered due to a bb pellet and suffered minor scratches. Medical treatment was refused at the scene.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
