(KMOV) -- MoDOT will close the westbound lanes of the Boone Bridge that takes Highway 40 from Chesterfield to St. Charles County.
MoDOT will close the lanes at 8 p.m. Friday and should reopen the lanes by 5 a.m. Monday. When MoDOT closed the same lanes last month many drivers were confused by the detours and were stuck in traffic.
"If you gotta be there at 5 o'clock you might want to leave at 3 because the traffic is terrible," driver Juan Morgan said. "It's time consuming."
Signs are up warning people of the closure. MoDOT will continue its repairs to the bridge. Earlier work was canceled due to rain.
If you are planning on going to Columbia for the Mizzou game this weekend, you can take I-270 to westbound I-70, or Highway 364 to Highway 94 in St. Charles.
MoDOT has opened the lanes early. Traffic is flowing through now.
