(KMOV)--School officials from the Rockwood School District are warning parents and guardians of three confirmed cases of Chicken Pox.
Officials are informing the largely unvaccinated population, that Chicken Pox develops between ten to twenty-one days after exposure and is easily spread through respiratory secretions. After the onset of the rash, the illness remains contagious for about a week.
The Chicken Pox Vaccination is not one hundred percent effective, making all children in the schools at risk. Children with the Chicken Pox vaccination usually experience milder symptoms.
Parents and guardians are urged to contact their physician as soon as symptoms occur.
