ROLLA, Mo. (AP) -- Michael Piatkowski threw three touchdown passes to lead Drake to a 28-14 victory over Missouri S&T Saturday night.
Piatkowski found Kevin Marshall for a 42-yard score on Drake's first possession, and hit a pair of TD passes in the third quarter, connecting with Steve Platek for 10 yards and Pat Cashmore for 33. Piatkowski finished the night 15 of 25 for 231 yards and no interceptions and was sacked four times.
The Bulldogs (1-1) led 14-0 after the first quarter, but Missouri S&T, of Division II, came back with the help of Trent Welbern's 42-yard TD pass to Smook Thomas, a 2-point conversion and a field goal to get within 14-11 at the half.
But Drake scored twice on scoring passes in the third quarter and held the Miners (0-2) to a field goal in the second half.
