(KMOV) -- The group "Saint Paul Saturdays" celebrated their 25th anniversary Saturday.
SPS helps to shape the lives of young African-American boys in St. Louis. and held its anniversary banquet downtown.
Young men from 6 to 17 years old meet from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday morning for tutoring and field trips.
Keith Turner was in the original class and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta. He now owns Turngroup Technologies and has nothing but praise for the program.
"It was invaluable," Turner said. "The leadership, the direction I was given by volunteers and older members in the program; you can't measure it."
The organization said more than 40 percent of the participants drop out in the first couple years, but all of those who stick with it graduate from high school and college.
