Expanded High School sports coverage

All of these games can be heard live on, the CBC-DeSmet game will have streaming video.

SLUH (2-0) @ Webster Groves (2-0)
A sensational early season matchup between two non-conference foes is one of the highlights this week on Prepcasts. Webster, the defending class 5 State Champion, has outscored their opponents 96-21 during the first two weeks. Marquis Clemons, who has 5 touchdowns for the Statesman, is averaging over 10 yards per carry and leading a very balanced WG offense. Jason Meehan anchors the speedy Statesman defensive corp. The Jr Bills have solid wins over two quality programs as they have knocked off Parkway North and Ladue in the first two weeks. The outstanding passing duo of Trevor McDonagh and Mitch Klug was well known coming into the 2010 season. McDonagh is completing almost 75% of his passes (30 of 41, 5 TD’s) and Klug has been on the receiving end of 3 TD strikes. Unknown however, was the talent of running back Terek Hawkins  (44 carries-345 yards) who has added a running threat to this already potent offensive attack. BJ Schulte & Bob Kodner will be behind the Prepcasts mics for this one.

Timberland (2-0) @ Francis Howell (2-0)
Another battle of two unblemished records will tangle at Francis Howell in a GAC South Contest. Moving into the GAC South effortlessly, the Wolves are 2-0 but face their toughest opponent to date. QB Ryan Bainbridge has almost 400 yards of total offense in a system where the skills of many different players are utilitzed. Howell, a post-season team in 2009, romped past Holt in the opener then knocked off perennial power Helias last week 29-19. QB Brett Graves has thrown for 5 touchdowns and scored three himself in the Viking wins. Andy Zilch and Bradford Bruns will have this exciting call.

Valle Catholic (2-0) vs. Herculaneum (2-0)
Something has to give here! Valle Catholic has yet to allow a point while Herky is averaging 48ppg! These Co-leaders of the Mississippi Blue Conference will more than likely determine the conference championship in this game. The Warriors, loser at the Dome last year, are continuing their long-standing tradition with an outstanding team. The first-teamers are looking for their first real extended action after their two opening blow-outs. The Black Cats are always physical and talented so this premier game is a “must”. Frank Kirchmer provides you with all the action on Prepcasts.

CBC (1-1) @ DeSmet (1-1)
Each team rebounded last week after opening week tight losses to ranked teams. CBC’s offense is being led by Jr. QB Dalton Demos, who’s currently 5th in the area in passing yards after 2 games. Meanwhile, Durron Neal ran the wildcat at an elite level last week. He scored 3 offensive TD’s, passed for two more and returned an INT 75 yards for the score in the easy Spartan win over Hazelwood East. In the recent past, this game has been pivotal for each school. A win has often translated into a long post-season “run”. Matt Judkins and Bob Ryan have the call for this video streamed MCC game.

Belleville East (2-0) vs. Edwardsville (1-1)
Prepcasts continues their Belleville Game of the Week with a terrific Southwestern Conference game. The Lancers of Belleville East have outscored their opponents 64-15 in their two huge wins. While Darnell Stevenson does something of everything- he passes, runs, returns, punts, the strong leg of Brandon Hoguet has blasted three field goals to put points on the board when the Lancer offense stalls. Edwardsville bounced back from their loss in week one to win easily last week. Rodney Coe has to be watched for his offensive prowess for the Tigers in this hotly contested game. Austin Voelker and Ron Block bring all the exciting action to you.

John F. Kennedy (1-1) @ St. Mary’s (1-1)
The Dragons host the Celtics in a key AAA Conference game. SM lost in the waning seconds of week 1 to Lutheran St Charles 24-23 but rebounded with an impressive win over Windsor. Will Ruzicka lead the Dragon spread offense as a run-pass threat. Sean Dunn is leading St Mary’s defensively with over 30 tackles in the first two games.
JFK beat Trinity in the opening game of the year then fell to Lutheran St Charles last week. Steven Proctor leads the Celts defense in tackles, sacks and fumble recoveries. Charlie Kennedy and Roger Sinnott will have this call for you!

Fox (0-2) @ Lindbergh (2-0)
The Lindbergh Flyers look to keep marching along the unbeaten path as they host the Warriors. The Flyers are averaging 43.5 ppg offensively while surrendering just 17 points for the entire season!  Always able to attack on the ground or through the air, the Flyers have Peter Simpson at the helm (434 yards and 4 TD tosses) while Tim Hamm-Bey leads a bevy of Flyer running backs. The defense shows 11 sacks as a unit in the first 2 games so Fox will be working hard to establish their run game. The Warriors only trailed 13-7 last week to Ritenour at half when the wheels fell off in the 2nd half. Look for Fox to come out with fire in their eyes in this big Suburban West game. Tim Miller and Jim Pleimann will bring all the action of this game to you.
