(KMOV) -- Damien Nash was in the early stages of an NFL career in 2007 when he collapsed and died after a charity basketball game. He was 24.
Since then his mother Kim has worked to make something good out of her unspeakable grief.
For the fifth straight year, there will be a charity basketball game with proceeds benefiting the Damien Nash Youth Association, a community outreach program for young people in the area.
Current NFL players with Missouri ties like Jeremy Maclin and Sean Weatherspoon will be there playing and signing autographs.
It goes from 1:30pm to 5pm Saturday at Riverview Gardens High School at 1218 Shelply.
