ST. LOUIS—First Lady Michelle Obama visited St. Louis on Monday to attend a fundraiser for her husband re-elections campaign at the Peabody Opera House.
Before the appearance, she met with veterans and their families who are affiliated with the group The Mission Continues for about 20 minutes at Lambert Airport.
The First Lady was greeted by the Garcias - both who served in the Marine Corps - and their two sons. She then spoke directly to everyone else, offering hugs and handshakes, and paying special attention to the children.
The Mission Continues is a non-profit group that gives stipends to returning veterans, which allows vets to work for other not-for-profit organizations.
Mrs. Obama is a supporter of the organization and has partnered with it on other occasions.
