Troy woman killed after her car crashed into oncoming traffic

(KMOV)—A Troy, Missouri woman was killed after her car struck a barrier and stopped in oncoming traffic on Saturday morning in St. Louis County.

According to reports, 53-year-old Lisa West’s car left the road on northbound 67 just south of the Lewis Bridge, striking a median barrier. The car then bounced back onto the road, into oncoming traffic

West’s car was struck by an oncoming car driven by 34-year-old Christopher Michael of Godfrey, Ill. At 12:50 a.m.

West was pronounced dead at the scene, Michael suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

Officers believe both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the impact.

Police are investigating.
