AT&T calls on Missourians to pledge to stop texting and driving

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Wireless carrier AT&T on Wednesday urged all Americans to pledge to stop texting and driving.

According to officials, texting while driving causes more than 100,000 crashes each year.

AT&T, its employees and other supporters are calling on all drivers to go to www.itcanwait.com to take the no-texting-and-driving pledge, and then share their promise with others on Twitter and Facebook.

“As kids in Missouri head back to school, we want to reinforce the message that no text message is so important that it is worth dying for,” said Debra Hollingsworth, regional vice president of AT&T.
