ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – At least two people had to be rescued after an apartment complex in north St. Louis caught fire Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the fire started in a unit in the O’Fallon Place apartment community in the 1400 block of Cochran Place.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported heavy smoke coming from the building. At least two people in the building had to be rescued by first responders. Residents in surrounding buildings were evacuated as a safety precaution.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control by 6:45 a.m.
There have been no reports of injuries, but the apartment building suffered extensive damage to a main and upper floor unit.
No word on what sparked the fire.
