FRANKLING COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) -- Some exciting news emerged for the local economy on Tuesday. Officials say 200 new jobs are coming to an auto parts manufacturer in Franklin County.
Henniges Automotive in New Haven announced plans for a $5 million investment. The company manufactures a variety of car parts for companies, including General Motors.
Governor Jay Nixon says the expansion represents an important investment.
“If you needed any more proof that Missouri is leading the rebirth of the auto industry in America, this is it,” Nixon said when speaking in New Haven Tuesday. “When CNN put out its list of the top entrepreneur states, it put Missouri number six. To quote them, they said ‘move over Detroit. The big guns of manufacturing have turned sweet on Missouri.’”
Henniges Automotive plans to hire 200 new employees over the next 18 months.
