HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOV) – Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly set a fire that killed a resident in Hazelwood on Saturday.
Jeremy Henderson, 20, was charged Monday with second-degree murder and first-degree arson.
Hazelwood Police arrived on the scene in the 5200 block of Ville Rosa Lane around 11:45 a.m. Saturday and found a 10-family apartment complex on fire.
Police evacuated residents from the three-story complex as fire departments were arriving. Michael Mansfield, 48, was found dead in a burning top floor apartment unit. Six others who were trapped inside got out safely.
An investigation led them to Henderson, who was arrested and taken into custody.
He remains in jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
