WARRENTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police say the death of a St. Charles man whose body was found in Warren County has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Andrew Ell, 22, was last seen heading to the restroom at a Warrenton, Mo. Jack in the Box restaurant early Saturday morning.

A search party made up of Ell’s friends located his body facedown in about eight to 10 inches of water just north of a service road along I-70 around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities said the county coroner also found an abrasion on his hand consistent with an injury from falling.

Investigators initially called Ell’s death suspicious.

Officials said the Major Case Squad was activated to assist Warrenton County police in the investigation.
