JOLIET, Ill.—The trial for a former St. Peters man accused of shooting his wife and three children was expected to begin on Monday.
Jurors who’ll determine the fate of Christopher Vaughn were scheduled to be at the Will County courthouse on Monday.
That’s when jury selection begins for the murder trial of Vaughn, from Oswego, Ill.
Vaughn is accused of killing his wife and children on June 14, 2007. Authorities allege he was driving his family in their SUV when he pulled onto a frontage road near Channahon about 40 miles southwest of Chicago and shot them.
Police later found the bodies of Kimberly Vaughn, 12-year-old Abigayle, 11-year-old Cassandra and 8-year-old Blake.
Vaughn has pleaded not guilty. He’s being held without bond in Will County.
Will County State’s Attorney officials say the trial is expected to last up to six weeks.
