ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – St. Louis County police caught a woman who escaped from a holdover cell at the county police’s facility in Jennings on Friday.
Police said the woman escaped from the police facility in the 5400 block of Jennings Station Rd. around 3 p.m.
According to police, the suspect posed as an inmate who was about to be bailed out of jail by her sister. When the sister told police she did not know the suspect, the woman fled.
Several units spent about two hours searching for the woman, who was apprehended and taken back into custody about 4 p.m.
Authorities said the woman was being held on multiple charges, including failure to appear in court, disorderly conduct and assault on a law enforcement officer, among others.
