ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A suspect is in custody after he allegedly shot a man in north St. Louis early Thursday.
Police said a 32-year-old man was traveling southbound in the 4000 block of Union when the passenger shot him in the ribs. The vehicle then cut across the center lane in front of a police car.
Authorities said the suspect, 23, jumped out of the front seat and fled south. An officer approached the vehicle and discovered the victim.
Police said the other officer chased the suspect and caught him at the intersection of Union and Margareta. A handgun was found nearby.
The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the shooting was unknown.
