OLIVETTE, Mo. (KMOV) -- It is back to the drawing board for city leaders in Olivette, Missouri after voters struck down a proposed bond issue for a new city hall and fire department building.
Prop S would have used $9 million in bonds to buy an existing empty office building for a new city hall and build a new fire house where the old city hall now stands.
Opponents questioned the project’s expense and size. Supporters said the proposal would have been the best way to get Olivette city services out of a cramped and outdated 60 year old building.
