WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are investigating after a vacant home caught fire in Washington Park for the second time in a week.
According to the Washington Park Fire Lieutenant, the fire started around 5 a.m. in the 5400 block of Adelade on Wednesday.
When crews arrived on the scene, they witnesses flames shooting from all angles of the home. By the time firefighters extinguished the blaze, the home was leveled.
Fire officials said this is the second vacant house fire this week. Although cause has not yet been determined, officials are calling the fire suspicious.
Images from SkyZoom 4 showed a burned house next to the one leveled in Wednesday’s fire. It is not clear if the other home is the one officials are referring to when they reported an earlier suspicious fire this week.
