ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV) – Two people were hospitalized after a two-alarm fire ripped through an apartment complex in St. Charles Saturday night.
Several agencies responded to the scene after the blaze started on the second floor of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Spring.
According to officials, several people were jumping from balconies due to the amount of smoke in the hallways.
Firefighters evacuated all residents living in the building, which contains 20 apartment units. Crews then went in and searched the building for pets.
Two people – including the man whose apartment the fire allegedly started in – were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
