(KMOV.com) -- A St. Louis City Marshal was assaulted with his own weapon after trying to break up a confrontation concerning his stepson Sunday night.
Police said several suspects approached the marshal’s 39-year-old stepson about buying his bike in the 3400 block of Osage around 8 p.m.
Police then said the step-son told the men the bike was not up for sale. The suspects then threatened the man with bricks if he didn’t sell the bike.
The 49-year-old marshal spoke with the suspects and resolved the situation.
When the marshal walked back to his home, a man came up behind him and threw him to the ground. The suspect then took his weapon and struck him in the head.
Police said the suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 24. Police said the suspect, who was unarmed at the time of the assault, fled the area with the victim’s weapon.
Police are still looking for suspects in both incidents.
