(KMOV.com) -- Police are investigating a possibly meth-related explosion at a boarding house in St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.
The explosion happened in the 3600 block of Castleman around 4 p.m. A 44-year-old man suffered second-degree burns to his face and chest in the blast.
Investigators report a fire started in the basement kitchen of the residence, which is a boarding house.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
During the initial investigation, authorities located remnants of materials used to make methamphetamine in a bedroom.
Police say the building was not damaged by the explosion.
The investigation is ongoing.
