(KMOV) – A man accused of killing three Missouri Sewer District employees in Valley Park in 2002 pleaded guilty to murder charges on Tuesday.
Mitchell Osburn pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to the March 8, 2002 stabbing deaths of Joseph Bisso, 45, Steven Weiss, 46, and Robert Whitson, 45.
According to police, the workers were at Lions Park when Osburn walked up and began stabbing the men. Another MSD worker who was at the park with his family witnessed the incident and called authorities, but Osburn had already fled the scene.
Police eventually caught up to him several days later at a Brentwood hardware store.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
Osburn’s formal sentencing hearing is scheduled for July. He faces multiple life in prison sentences.
