Police identify suspect shot, killed by officers in south St. Louis County

(KMOV.com) -- Police have identified the man shot and killed after he allegedly threatened officers with a gun in south St. Louis County.

Officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle at KT'S Bar and Grill at the 4500 block of Telegraph Road around 1 a.m. Saturday.

A woman told police she was talking to her boyfriend in the bar's parking lot when a man approached them and started a verbal dispute. Moments later, police say the woman's boyfriend and the other man began fighting.

Authorities say the suspect then grabbed the the woman's keys and stole her car.

Police tracked the man to the 4400 block of El Paulo Court in Oakville, where the stolen vehicle was reportedly found parked in front of the apartment building. When officers knocked on the suspect's door, he allegedly threatened them with a gun.

The two police officers opened fire, shooting the suspect multiple times.

Andrew Bush, 29, was prounced dead at the scene. Neither of the officers was hurt in the shooting.

Witnesses said Bush was a regular at KT'S Bar and Grill.

"I knew he had guns, but I didn't think he'd do something like this," said one neighbor. "Just crazy."

The two police officers are on paid administrative leave while the department investigates the shooting. This is standard when police are involved in a shooting.
