Edwardsville, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A man is accused of being drunk and carrying drugs after he crashed his truck near Edwardsville on Monday.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says they received a call for a traffic crash on New Poag Road near Old Poag Road near Edwardsville on Friday evening just before 6 p.m.

Deputies arrived to find a pick-up truck that had driven off the road and about 30 feet into a muddy field.

Nearby authorities say they found John Dixon, 41, of Alton, Illinois walking and showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol.
