(KMOV.com) -- A Texas man is facing a drug charge and a hefty fine after Illinois State Police found cocaine in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Sunday.
On Tuesday, Horacio Hernandez-Saenz, 46, a Mexican citizen most recently residing in El Paso, Texas, was charged with possession and intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
According to police records, Hernandez-Saenz was pulled over for a routine traffic stop by Illinois state officers last Sunday. During the stop, officers found cocaine in the vehicle Hernandez-Saenz was driving. He was arrested on the spot.
If convicted, Hernandez-Saenz faces a minimum sentence of 10 years to a maximum of life in prison, a fine up to $10-million and at least five years of supervised release.
