Thieves steal 2 TVs in plain sight of Manchester Police Department

MANCHESTER, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- Manchester police are looking for two men they say stole two flat-screen televisions from a store across the street from the Manchester Police Department.

The theft occurred at the Walmart Supercenter at 201 Highlands Boulevard Drive just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police said two men walked into the store and grabbed a shopping cart.  They made their way to the electronics section and put two televisions in the cart. The men then walked out of the store without paying.

Police say an employee confronted the men in the parking lot and grabbed the cart which tipped over. The suspects grabbed the TVs and took off.  The employee was not injured.

Police say the suspects took off in a dark green Jeep Liberty.

Police plan to review surveillance footage from the store's security system to see if they can identify the suspects or their vehicle.  If caught, the suspects will be charged with felony theft due to the price of the televisions.
