2 Seriously hurt after motorcycle, car collide in Metro East

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Illinois (KMOV) -- Two people were seriously injured in an accident involving a motorcycle near Scott Air Force Base Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, a motorcycle and car collided in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 around 5 p.m.

Police said two people were seriously injured in the wreck, but their exact condition was unknown.

It was not immediately clear if both victims were riding the motorcycle, or if one was in the car.

Lanes were shutdown for nearly an hour following the accident.
