EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Police in East St. Louis say a shooting victim's distinctive tattoos helped them identify her.
Authorities say relatives recognized the publicly released details about the woman and helped identify her as 19-year-old Nyosha White of Sparta.
Investigators say White's body was found on a road Sunday and that she had been shot in the back of the head.
White had no identification on her. But her tattoos included "Princess," "Love," "Pain" and the number "4," as well as the word "NeNe."
There's no immediate word on any arrests or charges. The police chief says it's unclear why White was in East St. Louis.
Anyone with information about the killing is urged to call East St. Louis Police or Illinois State Police.
