Damaged cars a painful reminder of Saturday's strong storms

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Missouri (KMOV) -- Several storm-damaged cars were still in the parking lot of a Maryland Heights strip mall on Monday morning. They were a reminder of the strong storms that blew through the area on Saturday.
Several of the cars had broken windshields. Back windows were missing. The hoods were pock-marked from the hail stones. One Maryland Heights resident says the hailstones that fell over the weekend were ping-pong to baseball-sized.
A quick drive through the neighborhood showed several branches were torn off trees. Leaves from the trees blanketed the streets, driveways, front yards and rooftops. On Sunday some residents were on the roofs of their homes with brooms sweeping away the leaves and checking for any damage to the shingles.
