ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri (KMOV) – St. Louis County is now inspecting a downtown Clayton parking garage every week after inspections uncovered alleged building flaws.
According to a lawsuit filed this month against C. Rallo Contracting, the problems were first discovered in 2008, just four years after it opened.
The suit says cracks in columns and other flaws in things such as precast panels led to costly repairs for the $14 million garage that sits between Meramec and Central.
County officials say the garage is safe, but since flaws are turning up so early, they need to keep a close eye on the place.
An official with C. Rallo says they are aware of the county’s concerns but have not seen the lawsuit.
