Suspect sought in Edwardsville gas station robbery

EDWARDSVILLE, Illinois (KMOV.com) -- Police are looking for a man who they say robbed an Edwardsville gas station early Tuesday morning.

Edwardsville police confirm that the BP Amoco in the 300 block of South Buchanan Street was held up around 3 a.m.
 
According to reports, a man displayed a handgun to the station clerk and demanded money from the cash register.  Authorities said they don't know what or if the suspect got away with.
 
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10" to 6' tall.  At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black scarf around his face, a black jacket and dark-colored pants.  He was last seen heading south from from the station.
