GREENFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Law enforcement officials are cataloging countless pieces of stolen property that were found on about 40 acres in rural Dade County.
Dade County Sheriff Steven Stapp says most of the items found near Greenfield this week came from Lawrence, Dade and Greene counties, but some were from as far away as St. Joseph.
Stapp says the stolen items range from construction materials, tools, ATVs to cars. And he says cattle thefts might be connected to the case.
The sheriff said his office has been receiving calls about the property owner for years. He says officers are looking for the property owner, who is believed to be in Springfield.
KYTV-TV reports a property caretaker was arrested and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
