SUNSET HILLS, Mo. (KMOV) – Sometimes the customer and the contractor just do not see eye-to-eye about the finished product such is the case for a Sunset Hills homeowner.
Shirley Hampton’s house features a good looking deck but she says that the looks can be deceiving.
“The rails wiggle. The boards are cracked from one end to the other. The braces are not holding at all hardly,” Hampton said.
The contractor, Bryant Storey, tells News 4 that his company stands ‘100 percent’ behind the work on the deck which has a five-year workmanship warranty.
Hampton paid $2600 for the job that she believes she did not get what she paid for.
“He did not do what he should have done as a construction person,” she said.
Storey says he is willing to do “whatever it takes to satisfy the customer” with no additional charge at any time.
The Better Business Bureau did look into this dispute and determined Bryant took steps to resolve the issue. He has a B-plus rating with the BBB.
