DE SOTO, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- Damage was reported after two cars tipped over in a train derailment along Main Street in De Soto.
Authorities said a total of six cars hopped the tracks in the 900 block of South Main Street around 9:30 Tuesday morning. Additionally, two of the cars tipped over, spilling gravel and uprooting the train tracks.
Currently two intersections are closed because of the train blocking the intersections. Miller Road and Commercial Crossing at Main Street are closed
At this time it is not known what might have caused the cars to derail and there have been no reports of any injuries.
Union Pacific crews are on site assessing the damage, clearing the gravel and replacing the damaged track.
